This captivating story drew me in despite my initial uncertainty about its direction.
We meet Kat, a detective still harbouring feelings for her ex-fiancé from 18 years ago. Her friend, determined to help her move on, signs her up for a dating website.
Surprised, Kat finds her ex-fiancé’s profile staring back at her. Why does he have a different name? She starts communicating with him, but his responses feel off. Little does she know that this seemingly innocuous suspicion will lead her down a path of a case far more extensive than she could have imagined.
Initially warned to forget about the case, Kat’s persistence is fueled by numerous red flags. The FBI gets involved, and the case takes a shocking turn.
Amidst all this, Kat also seeks to uncover the truth behind her police officer father’s death years ago. More secrets, meant to remain hidden, are revealed, leaving her questioning her emotions and preparing to confront the person responsible. What will it look like once the truth is revealed?
