THE UNMISSABLE NEW THRILLER FROM THE SUNDAY TIMES BESTSELLING AUTHOR OF THE MOTHER, THE CATCH AND THE HOLIDAY
Adam and Jess move into a new house with their three young children: a rambling Victorian villa in a nice neighbourhood right at the very top of their price range. Before long Adam discovers a door hidden behind a fitted wardrobe, concealing a secret room . . .
Inside Adam discovers a collection of forgotten items: a wallet, an expensive watch and an old mobile phone. Jess thinks they should simply throw them away. But Adam resists. He is fascinated by these items and how they came to be inside the hidden room.
But like the house, Adam has his secrets too. And soon he will find himself setting in motion a series of events that will place his family in terrible danger . . .

*Curiosity*
I found this book intriguing, annoying and frustrating all at the same time but, there was enough going on to keep me interested. The narration by Richard Armitage really sold the book to me. Being an actor he really knew how to ramp up the fear and intrigue.
Adam and Jess have been dreaming of one day owning a Victorian House. They are so excited that the house they have always wanted is about to be theirs. They move in with their three children and while looking around Adam finds a door. Now, this door is not obvious but when he gets into it he finds a secret room.
Inside the windowless room he finds seven different items. At that point in the story Adam in hindsight realises he should have gotten rid of the items and left it there. He is curious by nature and you know what they say about curiosity.
He is about to lift the lid off Pandora’s box. What then happens is a sequence of events that he wish he could control.
The items all have a story behind them and someone wants them back. Adam starts to unearth some of the secrets and he is also holding something back. With the weight of his secret and the items what will he do? Will he be able to shield his family as the police just roll their eyes and then there is a showdown…..
Formulaic
I’ve enjoyed this author previously but this was one too many and the protagonist’s reasoning began to grate in the way that listening to a tiresome acquaintance can
