Publisher Description
More than three thousand years have passed since the first events recorded in Frank Herbert's DUNE. Only one link survives with those tumultuous times: the grotesque figure of Leto Atreides, son of the prophet Paul Muad'Dib, and now the virtually immortal God Emperor of Dune. He alone understands the future, and he knows with a terrible certainty that the evolution of his race is at an end unless he can breed new qualities into his species. But to achieve his final victory, Leto Atreides must also bring about his own downfall . . .

Good but
A good rendition of the reading of the book. There were a coiuple of spots that had some skipping of the recording for several minutes of play time. Once about at the halfway point and the other near the end were the major ones. There were minor blips throughopiut the recording. Other than that it was quite well done.
5/5 book, 3/5 audio production
Nothing worse than randomly changing voice actors throughout the book.
Love the story. Pronunciation is distracting.
Reading the books over the years, I had particular pronunciations of names in my mind. I don’t know that they were correct but they became fixed in my mind. Hearing them pronounced differently in this audio book has been a distraction for me. For example, I thought it was “lee-toh”, not “lay-toh” and “moh-nee-oh”, not “moh-nay-oh”. Other than that, it’s entertaining.
