Outstanding Story & Listen🎧 Riveting & Intense!
This is an outstanding debut novel, it is a powerful story that will move you like no other. It is one of the most heart-rending and gut-wrenching stories I have experienced in a while. It not only grabbed my attention it grabbed my heart too and captivated both the entire book. The storylines are characters are realistic, easy to relate to and connect with. Sabra Valentine is a survivor of domestic abuse, victimized by her older brother Lucas since she was a 7 year old child. She suffered the abuse alone, afraid to tell her parents and never shared what happened with anyone else. Having enough she saves herself the only way she knew how and at 17 she was finally free from him and his narcissistic and evil ways. Seven years later she is living her life, she is in grad school and is looking forward to a career in acting. She is seeing a wonderful guy, Trevor Collins, but when she gets a call from Lucas she knows for his own good she needs to push him away. Lucas is back to terrorize her once again. Trevor gives her space but does not give up on her. Lucas torments from a distance, little things are first but it starts to escalate and by the end we see how sick he really is.This book is cleverly plotted withe plenty of drama, angst, twists and turns, thrilling suspense, including psychological suspense, heartfelt and emotional moments and a wonderful romance. I have to say the realism of this story makes it even more meaningful, it cuts deep and may take some out of their comfort zone at times. I admired Sabra for her strength and determination and Trevor for his patience, understanding and for not giving up on her. Kate Dunbar, it was an honor to listen to your debut novel, the story is not an easy one but it definitely one that needs to be told and heard. Thank you for this great story and emotional rollercoaster ride.
