Dropped series
Well I read one final book and then I had to dump the series. When men acquiesce to the whims of their spouse it is the decline of that era. Ironically, in this series alone there are multiple times when the husband wants to do something and the wife doth protest and then of course the man caved in to the harsh look of his wife, good grief! In the world of WROL the man is either an Alpha or he isn’t. The “isn’t” is either a servant to an Alpha or he is dead, there quite literally is no in between. Read a history book, it’s filled with examples of what I’ve just written.
On a previous review I noted how the wife finds it necessary to physically abuse her husband, oh but of course it’s only in jest. No it’s not, it’s the sign that the woman finds it acceptable that she is in a contest for dominance, IT NEVER HAS NOR WILL IT EVER WORK.
That being said, there have been and always will be very competent, brave, intelligent women that will lead, amen to it! But, one will either lead or be lead, it’s really just that simple.
Final note: the authors continued use of the spouse striking the other reflects his place as subservient individual in our modern society. If it was the man constantly brow beating or actually hitting his wife when she doesn’t agree with him, that same author would be back to living in mommy’s basement because he would not have a job as an author.
