Publisher Description
Before the Rebellion, the Empire reigns, in book one of a trilogy told through the eyes of Mon Mothma, Bail Organa, and Saw Gerrera—for fans of Andor.
“In order to ensure the security and continuing stability, the Republic will be reorganized into the first Galactic Empire! For a safe and secure society!”
With one speech and thunderous applause, Chancellor Palpatine brought the era of the Republic crashing down. In its place rose the Galactic Empire. Across the galaxy, people rejoiced and celebrated the end of war—and the promises of tomorrow. But that tomorrow was a lie. Instead, the galaxy became twisted by the cruelty and fear of the Emperor’s rule.
During that terrifying first year of tyranny, Mon Mothma, Saw Gerrera, and Bail Organa face the encroaching darkness. One day, they will be three architects of the Rebel Alliance. But first, each must find purpose and direction in a changing galaxy, while harboring their own secrets, fears, and hopes for a future that may never come unless they act.

A Must Read !!!
Amazing!!! Perfect for the Andor fan. Cannot wait for the next novel in the series.
A Disapppointment
I’ll start with what little I liked. Mon Mothma shined in this book. She felt the most true to her character that we saw briefly in Rogue One and Return of the Jedi but also quite a bit of Andor. She’s patient but obviously concerned with the direction the Republic now Empire is taking.
Bail was probably the character I was most disappointed with. At the end of Revenge of the Sith it was obvious that caring for Leia and keeping out of the sights of the emperor, but in this book he almost wants the attention and to gain “justice” for the Jedi. I had a major problem with this. If he was doing this behind closed doors I would understand but how is this protecting Leia? It just seemed stupid and senseless given the danger.
The Soujen character was fairly forgettable. Saw wasn’t around much in this book just a side character during the Soujen POVs.
Overall this was an unsatisfactory read and I’m not sure if I will read too many of the new Star Wars novels that will come out. Thankfully there are plenty of Legends?EU books to read.
