Saved my life!
The book is part of the recovery that saved my marriage, family and my life. The principals in this book apply to everyone"s life, especially those of us whose lives have been effected by alcohol abuse in childhood, in marriage or as a parent or grandparent. If you have found your way to this page continue down this path and buy this book.
Fabulous! Wow!
I have a lot of audiobooks – close to 100. And this one is different. I don't mean to say that it's better – it's different – and in a good way. These are actual Al-Anon members reading the stories and the chapters from the book, so it's a variety of voices and styles. The stories in particular are wonderful to have read out loud to you. Great book. Remarkable as an audiobook in particular.
One of the things I learned from this book is that alcoholism affects members of families for generations – even if no one is currently drinking in the family. This book is filled with great information for relationships of all kinds!
Terrible audio book
The messages and content are excellent. The producers of the audio book, however, enlisted AL Anon members to narrate the book. By telephone. The audio quality is just awful.
